Story
Chiru plays a dual role of father (Simhadri) and son (Chinnayya) who are faithful servants to Peddayya (Vijay Kumar).Peddayya treats Chinnayya like his son till his daughter (Meena) wrongfully accuses him of rape. Chinnayya is out of work and is unable to live without seeing his master and father figure. Simhadri, who takes the blame for killing Peddayya’s wife and is imprisoned, returns to see his son, who berates him. Peddayya, who loves his friend and his son, tells Chinnayya the truth that his brother-in-law, (Prakash Raj) killed his wife and not Simhadri. Soon after, Father and son reunite. Together they go to stop Meena from marrying Prakash Raj’s brother and in the ensuing fight Simhadri is killed. Peddayya, because of the grief of losing his dear friend, dies as well. Meena realizes what happened and marries Chinnayya. This is definitely one of Chiru’s best performances.

It is at times a self-piteous role and he delivered on all counts forgoing his image. As Simhadri, Chiru is so heartening. His expressions are so perfect that he makes the audience root for this poor, loyal servant, and when we see him die, our hearts break as we see a loveable character leave us. That is how fully Chiru became this character. We do not see this megastar with a larger than life image at all. Vijay Kumar does well. Meena at times is annoying and is grotesquely overweight! Prakash Raj hams along. K. S. Ravikumar directs the film well but there are some scenes which do not gel with the Telugu film audience, like chickens coming out from baskets. These types of scenes along with some overly sentimental moments work better for the Tamil audience. Music by S. A. Rajkumaar is passable but the songs “Gundello Gubulu” and “Oohalalo Oopirilo” are pleasant, with the former having nice special effects and the latter having some nice steps from the Megastar. Overall a nice mass film.
