Story

Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarinee jeevi reviewKrishna (Sudheer Babu) is a bright student from a poor background. Radha (Nanditha) is the class topper who is also from a poor background. Krishna falls in love with Radha during his school days in their village, but never expresses it. Radha wants to become a CA by concentrating more on studies. Krishna realises that studies is more important than love. Rest of the story is all about how river Krishna unites these two people.

Artists Performance

Actors: Sudheer Babu plays a character that has immense scope for performance. Sudheer Babu delivers his best performance as a guy who falls in love and can’t express it due to certain constraints. He has shown tremendous maturity and complements the character growth in the movie. He has danced well in fast-paced songs. Sahidev Vikram is impressive as the hero in childhood. Nanditha plays another difficult role and performs with exceptional ease. Posani Krishna Murali gets an honest role (except for a comedy scene in a bar). Abhijeet (LBW fame) plays a small yet important role. Chaitanya Krishna (Kaali Charan fame) plays a negative role. Saptagiri is wasted in a cameo. Pragathi does the character of heroine’s mother who has a slightly negative tinge to it.

Technical departments

Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarinee jeevi reviewStory - screenplay - direction: Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini is an official remake of Kannada blockbuster Charminar with the original director R Chandru. His movies are known for having good love stories with unconventional climaxes. KKI too is a love story where lovers don't express their feelings to each other till climax and there is an unconventional climax too. There is honesty in Chandru’s work (if you ignore a couple of forced commercial scenes). A part of it reminds us of Naa Autograph film where a former student gets back to his village and school to bring back his memories.

Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarinee jeevi reviewOther departments: Music scored by Hari Goura is good. There are couple of fast-beat songs and remaining are melodies. I liked Ola Ola, Veelunte and Tuhi Tuhi on screen. KS Chandra Sekhar’s cinematography is competent. Dialogues written are meaningful. I have liked the reunion speech that describes greatness of sacrificing teachers. Editing is alright. The first fight in the movie is choreographed with good emotion. Producers Lagadapati Sridhar and Sirisha should be appreciated for producing a well-intended movie.

Analysis: Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini is a well-intended film that stays away from forced commercial elements and sticks to the basic plot. Though the movie starts as a teen love story, there is nobility in the way story progresses. It’s a story where love and career are given equal importance. Plus points are story, performances and intent. On the flip side, slow narration and too many songs in the first half-an-hour hampers the experience. A film of this nature requires good patronage from movie lovers!
