Story

Dictator jeevi review(Nandamuri Balakrishna) stays with his in-laws and work in a supermarket store. Indu (Sonal Chauhan) is a wannabe actress and Chandu helps her out. Chandu wants to restrain and stay low all the time. But things get too far and he had to react. Rest of the story is all about who Chandu is and about his mysterious background.

Artists Performance

Dictator jeevi reviewActors: Balakrishna performs the way masses expect him to. He has excelled again in delivering punch dialogues with a lot of fierceness. He has danced with the joy of a kid in a couple of songs. Anjali is nice as a middle class girl. Sonal Chauhan is hot as actress wannabe. Shraddha Das and Mumaith Khan have performed in an item song. Rathi Agnihotri looks powerful as a power lady. This film has a heavy cast and lots of villains.

Technical departments

Dictator jeevi reviewStory - screenplay - direction: It is Balakrishna who popularized this kind of story and screenplay format with Samarasimha Reddy in 1999. The story and screenplay of Dictator is largely influenced by that format. Hence it’s bound to give us deja vu feeling. Director Sriwas should have worked more on screenplay and novelty aspect of the film. A couple of scenes are well-handled (the confrontation scenes between Balakrishna and Rathi Agnihotri regarding kidnap episodes and the scene when Rajiv Kanakala asks Balakrishna who he is). We expect many more emotionally charging mass scenes in Balakrishna films.

Dictator jeevi reviewOther departments: Punch dialogues written by M Rathnam for Balakrishna are good. Music by Thaman is alright. Background music is fine. Visuals for scenes comprising Balakrishna and Rathi Agnihothri are good. Art direction is good. Production values by Eros International and Vedaashwa Creations are good.

Dictator jeevi reviewAnalysis: Dictator is a typical Balakrishna’s film in a predictable format. Plus points are Balakrishna’s performance and punch dialogues. On the flip side, the story and screenplay are old-fashioned. There are too many action episodes. On a whole, Dictator is meant for masses and Balakrishna’s fans.
